The following films all have certain elements that seem to give them an edge over the competition. Stories, stars, directors, special effects and some great expectations could bode well for them. Which is why they could be the summer’s hot titles. Or . . . maybe not.
Just opening: “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”
Opening in June: “Batman,” “Ghostbusters II,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.”
Opening later this summer: “The Abyss,” “Casualties of War,” “Lethal Weapon 2,” “A Nightmare on Elm Street 5,” “Turner & Hooch.”
