Brea : City Sponsors Videos on Drowning Prevention
Brea’s city government is sponsoring a series of videos on drowning prevention this month. The videos will be on the city’s cable system, Video Brea Line, Channel 3. The shows will be broadcast on that cable channel at 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and June 12.
“Portions of the segment may be disturbing, but it is important to relay this information . . . ,” said a spokeswoman for the Brea Community Services Department. She said drowning has become so prevalent that it is now the leading cause of death for children in Orange County.
In addition to the video broadcasts, the Community Services Department has free, printed information about drowning prevention. City residents can call the department at (714) 990-7737 to request the material or other additional information.
