San Diego
San Diego police Friday arrested a 36-year-old restaurant cook in connection with a killing committed nearly two years ago.
Jose Cruz Barragan was arrested Friday morning as he was working as a cook at the Sands Hotel, on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard near California 163.
A police spokesman said Barragan was arrested in connection with the death of Armando Guadarama, whose body was found Aug. 31, 1987, on a wooded hillside near the 2600 block of Golf Course Drive in Golden Hill. Guadarama had been hacked to death with a machete, the spokesman said.
Barragan lives in the 4200 block of Estrella Avenue, the spokesman said.
