Events in the news this week.
The Anaheim City Council on Tuesday will hear a report from Jim Ruth, assistant city manager, on its options in the city’s quest to build a 21,000-seat, $85-million sports arena. In a blow to the city’s plans, the county Board of Supervisors last month scuttled a proposal to sell a 7.6-acre site at Katella Avenue and Douglass Road to the city. The parcel has been proposed as a county jail site. The city has two alternative sports arena sites.
