Placentia Pedestrian Killed by Car
A Placentia man died after being struck by a car on Placentia Avenue, authorities said Saturday.
Miguel Ornelas, 21, tried to run across the street just south of Via Burton Street when he was hit at 5:50 p.m. Friday by a car driven by an unidentified 27-year-old Anaheim resident, a Placentia Police Department spokesman said.
Ornelas was airlifted to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died at 8:30 p.m.
The driver was cited at the scene for having no driver’s license but was released pending further investigation, authorities said.
