Countywide : Penalty Fees Waived in Bid to Get Dogs Licensed
Under a new county resolution, penalty fees during June and July for dog owners who have neglected to license their pet will be waived.
To obtain a license, dogs 4 months or older must have proof of rabies vaccination.
The County Board of Supervisors, which adopted the two-month no-penalty period, is trying to encourage owners to have their pets licensed.
The county’s annual license fee is $20. If the dog is spayed or neutered, the cost is $10. Owners ages 65 and older pay only half of those fees.
Those interested can visit the county Animal Shelter, 516 The City Drive South, Orange.
For information, contact the shelter at (714) 834-6300.
