Ogden Phipps, owner of Kentucky Derby and Preakness runner-up Easy Goer, won three awards today in voting by the New York Turf Writers Assn. He was named outstanding owner and breeder and was cited as owner of the association’s horse of the year for 1988, Personal Ensign. Shug McGaughey, who trains for Phipps, was named trainer of the year, and Jose Santos was named outstanding jockey.
