Five persons escaped injury when they fled a home that caught fire Saturday morning in the 5600 block of Lindo Paseo in San Diego.
A spokesman for the San Diego Fire Department said the owner of the home, Nancy Galloway, reported that she had been doing laundry in a back room when she saw smoke.
She, two other adults and two children fled to a neighbor’s home, where they called for help. Twenty firefighters put out the fire in 20 minutes, containing damage to the back two rooms of the house.
Damage was estimated at $75,000 to the contents and $75,000 to the structure. Investigators said the fire was caused by an overloaded electrical system.
