Neighbor Says Bush Offers to Pop for Fireworks Show

KENNEBUNKPORT, Me. —
President Bush has offered to pick up the tab for the annual July 4th fireworks display as a gift to the ocean-side community, a resident said Saturday.
The resident, real estate broker Robert Knapp, for the past three years had been raising up to $6,000 for the town’s annual fireworks celebration.
Bush held his own private display last year at his oceanfront mansion, hiring a company whose pyrotechnics easily outclassed the town’s display, Knapp said.
