Rome Beauty Apples Help Make a Sinfully Glorious Party Dessert
“In the past, I have tried to use apples as a means of dieting,” Kerie Schwartz writes. “However, you will see from the recipe that this is not one of those times.
“These apples are a hit at dinner parties and for any occasion when you are asked to bring a dessert. My family loves to take part in the preparation of these Rome Beauties and I hope your readers will too.”
SINFULLY WONDERFUL APPLES
6 large Rome Beauty apples
1 (7-ounce) tube marzipan or almond paste, cut into 6 pieces
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Wash and core apples. Trim off bottoms evenly. Stuff apples with marzipan. Dip each apple in melted butter to coat. Roll each apple in sugar mixed with cinnamon.
Place in large baking dish and bake at 350 degrees 1 hour or until tender. Serve hot with light whipping cream, if desired. Makes 6 servings.
