Toxic Gas Strikes Siberia Vacationers; 27 Are Hospitalized

MOSCOW —
A chlorine gas container exploded at a water supply station near the Siberian city of Khabarovsk, releasing a cloud of toxic gas that forced scores of people to seek treatment, Tass said Wednesday. At least 27 people were hospitalized.
Civil defense teams, firefighters and army specialists managed to halt the gas leak, which occurred Tuesday, the official news agency said.
