Nomads Defeat Seattle, Run Streak to Eight

Share

Thien Nguyen scored at 65:15 to give the Nomads a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Storm at Balboa Stadium and extend their Western Soccer League record winning streak to eight.

Steve Boardman assisted on Nguyen’s goal, somewhat of a twist considering that Boardman leads the Nomads with six goals and that Nguyen leads the league with six assists. It was Nguyen’s first goal of the season.

Otto Orf, the Socker backup goalie signed by the Nomads earlier in the week, made five saves. Defenders Arturo Velazco and Pat McLaughlin came up with several blocked shots.
