Public television station KOCE steps back in...
Public television station KOCE steps back in time to tell “The Story of Orange County” on Wednesday night.
Airing from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on Channel 50, the three-part documentary celebrates Orange County’s centennial birthday year with a video history spanning the Native American period through World War II to the present day.
The first program features an interview with Bernardo Yorba, a descendant of Jose Antonio Yorba who in 1769 traveled to Orange County from Spain on the Portola Expedition. Yorba, shown on the cover at Mission San Juan Capistrano, talks about life during the rancho era.
The stories of other individuals will be complemented by historical footage, photos and memorabilia.
