Charges of terrorism and vandalism were filed Wednesday against three former football players from St. Genevieve High School in Panorama City who are accused of painting racial slurs on the door of a black coach and causing $10,000 in damage at the school.

Each of the ex-players, Jesus Renteria, Paul Zamora and Carlos Gonzalez, all 18-year-old seniors, are to be arraigned July 5 in Van Nuys Municipal Court on one charge of felony vandalism and one charge of misdemeanor terrorism.

Two other students, both 17, remain suspects in the June 12 incident.

School authorities found “KKK” and other racial slurs painted on the door of assistant football coach Jimmy Chambers, as well as smashed drinking fountains, broken glass and other damage.
