Irvine : Teacher Honored for Instruction in Science
Maureen Allen, a science resource specialist at Brywood Elementary School, is one of six teachers in the state selected to receive the Herb Strongin Award for excellence in elementary science teaching.
The state Board of Education recognizes the teachers for “significantly improving their students’ understanding of science or mathematics; for having a thorough grasp of their subject area, and for having educational goals that make them leaders in the teaching profession,” according to a release from the state Department of Education.
