Sockers Kevin Crow, the Major Indoor Soccer League defender of the year, and Victor Nogueira, the goalie of the year, were selected to the All-MISL team, the league announced Wednesday.

Crow, a five-year member of the Sockers, finished the regular season with career highs in goals (21), assists (15) and blocks (114).

Nogueira stepped into a sometimes full-time, usually overtime job when Zoltan Toth, the other starter, was sidelined midway through the season after foot surgery for bunions. Nogueira set a league record with a 2.86 goals-against average during the regular season and was chosen MVP of the championship series with Baltimore.

Midfielder Branko Segota, the MISL’s all-time leading scorer, was selected to the second team. Segota was sidelined for 17 games during the regular season with a recurring hamstring injury but still scored 63 points. An eight-year MISL veteran, Segota scored the game-winning goal in Game 7 of the semifinal series against Dallas and was chosen the player of the game in Game 7 of the championship series.

Other members of the MISL first team were Preki (Tacoma), Dale Mitchell (Kansas City), Chico Borja (Wichita) and Bruce Savage (Baltimore).

Other Sockers receiving votes from the panel of 14 media representatives, two from each league city, were forward Zoran Karic, the team’s leading scorer during the regular season with 37 goals, and defenders George Fernandez and Ralph Black.
