Ohio State’s athletic department will investigate $1,431 in telephone calls former coach Gary Williams’ placed to an investment broker at the university’s expense, according to a report in today’s editions of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
The newspaper reported university records show that the calls were placed from the university’s basketball office or on a business telephone credit card that was issued to Williams, who resigned June 13 to accept the coaching job at Maryland.
Williams said he would comply with the findings of a university investigation into the matter.
