1 Killed, 12 Injured in Soviet Forest Fires

MOSCOW — Forest fires raging out of control in the Soviet far east have killed one firefighter, injured 12 and triggered evacuation of residents, Tass said.
The official news agency said the fires were on the mainland near Vladivostock and across the island of Sakhalin.
