Westminster : Fire Damages Home; Woman Escapes Unhurt
A fast-moving fire heavily damaged a home Monday, but a woman at first believed to be trapped inside escaped unhurt, officials said.
The fire destroyed much of the garage and kitchen area of the home in the 14800 block of Yarborough Street, Westminster Fire Department Battalion Chief Don Herr said.
When the fire broke out about 3:40 p.m., a woman who was in the kitchen apparently made her way safely out a back door to a nearby school.
The blaze’s cause remained under investigation. Damage to the residence was estimated at $100,000, fire officials said.
