Floor Action: Raffles: Passed and sent to the Senate on a 55-6 vote a constitutional amendment (ACA 20) by Assemblywoman Jackie Speier (D-South San Francisco) to allow local governments to permit charitable organizations to conduct fund-raising raffles if the voters agree with such a move. State Official Income: Passed and sent to the Senate on 56-3 vote a bill (AB 1238) by Assemblyman Ted Lempert (D-San Mateo) to require incoming elected state officials, legislators and some local officials to disclose all income received during the year prior to assuming office. College Tuition: Passed and sent to the Senate on a 43-24 vote a bill (AB 500) by Assemblyman Tom Hayden (D-Santa Monica) to allow parents to pay future college tuition costs for their children at current prices by investing in a state trust program until they are ready to go to school. Jurors Pay: Passed and sent to the Assembly on a 34-0 vote a bill (SB 501) by Sen. Larry Stirling (R-San Diego) to increase from $5 to $10 the basic daily fee paid to those on jury duty. Law Enforcement: Passed and sent to the Assembly on a 25-4 vote a bill (SB 533) by Sen.
