Gerontology Study Center Will Be Built in Reseda
UCLA and the Jewish Homes for the Aging have announced the creation of the Borun Center for Gerontological Research in Reseda.
The facility is designed to support and conduct research into ways of improving the lives of older people through non-medical means.
“This is an important enterprise to address social, economic, environmental, psychological and health problems of the aging,” said Dr. E. Raymond Borun, a member of the Anna and Harry Borun Foundation Advisory Committee, which contributed $1 million to start the center.
Officials said the center will study older people with emotional problems, with a goal of finding ways to make them more interested and enthusiastic.
The center is at the Jewish Homes facility for the aged at 18855 Victory Blvd., Reseda. Initially, there will be a staff of four working in the center.
