More Funding: KCET Channel 28 has received $536,000 from Hitachi Ltd., the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Assn. and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. to produce an hourlong special that will compare Japanese and American educational systems. Production on “Quest for Education” will start this fall in the United States and Japan, with a spring 1991 airdate expected. . . . KCET also has a new $30,000 grant from Santa’s Village to underwrite the annual “Festival of Student Art.” Artwork created by elementary schoolchildren for the festival is shown during Channel 28’s station breaks.
