Hiker, 16, Falls From Cliff, Dies
A 16-year-old Tujunga boy died after falling down a 300-foot cliff while hiking with companions in the Angeles National Forest, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported Tuesday.
Javian Fragale was pronounced dead after deputies found his body at the foot of the cliff near Big Tujunga Canyon Creek north of Sunland, Deputy Bill Wehner said. Fragale suffered massive head injuries in the fall, Wehner said.
The boy and his companions were walking up a steep trail when the fall occurred about 7:30 a.m. Monday, Wehner said.
