New York’s tourism officials have asked Paramount Pictures to pull the advertising posters for the latest “Friday the 13th” horror film that show a bloody dagger slashing across the well-known “I Love New York” logo. Although the state has been looking for ways to cash in on its internationally recognized trademark, Stephen Morello, deputy commissioner of economic development, says, “There is no way any good can come from this.” A Paramount spokesman in a one-sentence prepared response, said, “We love New York too, and we’re furious at Jason.” “Friday the 13th, Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan” opens July 28 nationwide.
