St. Joseph Hospital will open its Irvine Health Center on Saturday. The center is an outreach facility that will provide a broad array of diagnostic and treatment services.

Dennis Gaschen, a spokesman for the Orange-based hospital, said the 40,000-square-foot building at 4050 Barranca Parkway will contain the offices of two primary care physician groups, Doctors of Children for Orange County and Doctors of Women Health Center.

He said there are also plans to add internal medicine and family practice groups. Besides primary physicians, he said, the center will provide time-share offices for at least 40 specialists.

Gaschen said the opening of the Irvine facility is “part of a growing trend for the hospital to establish primary care networks throughout Orange County.” St. Joseph has also said it will open an urgent care center in east Orange this fall.
