Bail was reduced from $50,000 to $25,000 Wednesday for Harold Dyson, suspected of endangering children at his mother’s Mira Mesa day care center.

Dyson, 24, had been free earlier on $25,000 bail, but a prosecutor requested a bail review because of alleged threats by Dyson against San Diego Police Detective Rick Carlson, who is investigating the case against Dyson and his mother.

Dyson failed to appear last week for the hearing and was arrested several hours later without incident. His bail was then raised to $50,000.

His attorney, Gary Edwards, argued that the bail should return to the original amount, and San Diego Superior Court Judge Herbert Exarhos lowered it.

The judge told Dyson not to contact Carlson.

Carlson said last week that Dyson had been following him, made obscene gestures and yelled profanities at him.

Dyson’s mother, Henri Dyson, 41, is charged with molesting two children at her day-care facility and abusing the children through tortures, which included a cold-water enema allegedly administered to a 17-month-old boy who had to be hospitalized.

A Sept. 18 trial date has been set for the Dysons. Henri Dyson remains free on $125,000 bail.
