Viacom International Inc. has formed a new motion-picture production company that plans to make about a dozen films a year, each with a budget of $3 million to $5 million. The movies turned out by the new unit, Viacom Pictures, will be offered in this country on Viacom’s pay-TV networks, Showtime and the Movie Channel, and also distributed overseas. Heading the new company are Neil S. Braun, chairman, and Frederick Schneider, president and chief executive officer.
