JeVena Morrison, widow of South Carolina football coach Joe Morrison, has filed a claim with the state Workers’ Compensation Commission stating that her husband’s fatal heart attack was caused by job stress, a newspaper reported.
The State of Columbia, S.C., said that the claim was filed against the university and its insurance carrier. The newspaper said she could receive up to $160,000 if the claim is upheld.
Morrison died Feb. 5 after playing racquetball at Williams-Brice Stadium.
