El Senor came from off the pace...
El Senor came from off the pace under Herb McCauley to beat Nediym by a half-length in the $233,200 Sword Dancer Handicap at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y.
Nediym, ridden by Jacinto Vasquez, was 3 1/2 lengths ahead of My Big Boy.
The victory was the third in six starts this year for El Senor, who covered 1 1/2 miles on the turf course in 2:27 to earn $139,920. He returned $4.60, $2.60 and $2.10. Nediym paid $5.60 and $2.40, and My Big Boy returned $2.20.
