Mister Wonder-ful: Musician Stevie Wonder paid a surprise visit to a Des Moines hospital this week to perform a free concert for a 12-year-old girl who suffers from a rare brain tumor that has affected her vision. Wonder, who is blind, did a short four-song set for Channelle Coureur-Slack, who is from the Caribbean island nation of St. Lucia. She has been receiving radiation treatment in Des Moines since June. Doctors say her eyesight has improved and she can now reportedly read one-inch type. Wonder decided to make the impromptu visit after a child psychologist at the hospital contacted one of his agents hoping to get the singer to write or call the girl.
