NBA Should Ban for Life Those Who Test Positive
Can someone please explain the National Basketball Assn.’s position on drug use? I am thoroughly confused after reading consecutive items in last Saturday’s Newswire column.
The first indicated that Chris Washburn was banned from the NBA for drug use, while the second stated that Mitchell Wiggins was reinstated after being banned for testing positive.
I would think that if the NBA is serious about this problem, it would ban for life those who test positive for drug use. In my opinion, a policy to reinstate players who have tested positive for drug use is not much of a deterrent.
