A father and daughter accused of trying to kill a younger, 360-pound daughter to put an end to the woman’s medical bills bought a freezer to hold the body one day before the shooting, police said today.

Valentine Kwiatkowski, 78, and his daughter Carol are accused of shooting 32-year-old Anna Kwiatkowski twice in the head Sunday. The woman was listed in serious condition today.

The two told people “they were going to put Anna in the freezer,” Police Sgt. Jerry Wright said.

An unidentified appliance salesman told the Detroit News that the suspects bought a freezer Saturday.

“They came in here bopping around, and it was funny how fast they bought it,” he said. “I asked him if he was a hunter. But he said he needed it because he wanted to store some extra meat.”

Wright said the purchase casts doubt on the father and daughter’s reported claim that they planned suicide after shooting the woman.
