NATION : Aquino to Make Formal State Visit

WASHINGTON —
Philippine President Corazon Aquino will make a formal state visit to Washington on Nov. 9 at President Bush’s invitation, the White House announced today.
The two presidents will discuss “a broad range of political, economic and financial issues in our strong bilateral relationship,” said presidential press secretary Marlin Fitzwater.
The agenda is expected to include debt relief and the future of American military bases in the Philippines. Aquino last visited the United States in September, 1986.
