Hamill Wins Speedway Scratch Main Event

Billy Hamill of Monrovia won the four-lap scratch main event in front of 2,782 in the weekly speedway program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Brad Oxley of San Clemente was second, Alan Christian of Murrieta third and Phil Collins of Newport Beach fourth.

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the eight-lap handicap main event. Hamill was second, Oxley was third and Shawn McConnell of Brea fourth.
