Gang Graffiti Mars Mural

I, too, am angry about the graffiti which was recently sprayed on Twitchell’s L.A. Marathon freeway mural. Believe me, it is the only pleasure I get from driving the freeway each day.

Friends and I had waited so patiently for completion of the first panel and eagerly looked forward to the appearance of the next and others to come. The first time it was sprayed over we were furious! After the painting was painstakingly restored and the graffiti covered, we were again angry and hurt that someone had the nerve to repeat the crime.

It’s a shame to have to suggest it, but could not a high fence, perhaps with barbed wire, be erected behind the shrubbery or lights? I hope that anyone who sees similar vandalism will take the trouble to report it to police immediately.

What is wrong, Los Angeles? Don’t we care? If we have to get mad to halt this madness let’s do it. Let’s not allow all beauty to vanish from our city.
