Tom Watson and Lanny Wadkins were named as the wild-card selections to the U.S. Ryder Cup team.

The selection of two 39-year-olds by Raymond Floyd, the team captain, completed the 12-man team that will play Europe’s best pro golfers in the biennial matches at Sutton-Coldfield, England, Sept. 22-24.

The United States holds a 21-5-1 record in the competition that began in 1927 but has lost the last two matches.
