Toshiba to Make Large TV Tubes in U.S.: The U.S. subsidiary of Toshiba Corp. will produce color television picture tubes in the United States larger than any other tubes made in America, the company announced. Toshiba Display Devices Inc. of Horsehead, N.Y., is to begin producing 32- and 34-inch “super-large” picture tubes for color television sets beginning today.
