1 Killed, 3 Hurt in Head-On Crash Near Valencia
A car attempting to pass a truck collided head-on with a pickup truck near Valencia on Thursday, killing the driver of the car and seriously injuring three others, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The name of the fatally injured woman, about 55, was withheld until relatives could be notified. A passenger in the car, a man also about 55, was injured, as were two men in their mid-20s who were in the pickup, said Officer Dave Pokorny.
The injured were taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia, he said.
The accident occurred about 8:15 p.m. on California 126 about two miles west of the Golden State Freeway, Pokorny said.
