The Carmelite Nuns at Auschwitz

Share

Metzger is either naive or lives on another planet.

There were indeed Gentiles who exposed themselves to great danger to save Jews. In Jerusalem at Yad Vashem, there is a touching memorial to many of those who put themselves in harm’s way to help Jews. They were human beings in the best sense.

Where were the nuns of Auschwitz when Jews who objected to the presence of the convent were beaten by Polish workers? Why did they not raise the “extraordinary beauty of their voices” to stop this horror?

If Jews in peril need to depend on the Metzgers of the world they have a bleak future.
