Police are holding a man in connection with the January murder of a 43-year-old drugstore owner who was shot to death in his garage during an apparent attempted robbery.

Willie Hall Lenton, 26, an auto mechanic in Compton, was arrested Thursday by Huntington Beach police at Olympic Boulevard and Sepulveda Avenue in Los Angeles after his car was pulled over. He is being held in Huntington Beach City Jail and will be arraigned Monday, Police Lt. John Foster said.

On Jan. 31, Truman Jue, the owner of a drugstore in Carson, had just carried his business receipts and money into his townhouse in the 8400 block of Sweetwater Lane when he was confronted by a gunman in his garage, police said. Jue was shot once in the chest and died at the scene.

Jue’s wife and two children, who were inside the house, were not harmed and called police after they heard the gunshot, police said. Family members apparently had not seen the gunman before he fled.
