Longest Shot Wins Feature

DEL MAR — Gran Judgement, longest shot in the field of six, held off the late challenge of Astronaut Prince and won the $60,000 turf feature a half-length Friday at Del Mar.

Gran Judgement, ridden by Russell Baze, covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:42 4/5.

The winner, sent off at 12-1, returned $27.80, $8.20 and $4.20. Astronaut Prince paid $5.40 and $3.80. Splendor Catch, with Gary Stevens aboard, was another length back and paid $3.20 to show.
