Commercial Scene : 50-Room Malibu Hotel Opens on Ocean Front

The $10-million, 50-room Malibu Beach Inn--the first new hotel in Malibu in 37 years--has opened at 22878 Pacific Coast Highway at the Malibu Pier. Designed by Valdes & Chabafy for owners Marty and Vicki Cooper and Skip and Lee Miser, the hotel is the only one on the beach between Laguna Beach and Oxnard, according to Russell A. Dazzio.

Dazzio is president of R & R Hospitality Group, managers of the hotel. Room rates range from $135 to $235.
