The boyfriend of Denise Marie Duerr was cleared of murder charges after laboratory and lie detector tests demonstrated he was not involved in the stabbing death of the 21-year-old Garden Grove woman. Robert Clyde Spontak, 22, of Garden Grove had been held in the Riverside County Jail since his arrest in April. Investigators now believe that Cameron Charles Seaholm, 22, a high school classmate of the couple who was also charged in Duerr’s murder, stabbed her to death with an ice pick before dumping her body near Corona. Seaholm remained in custody in Riverside County. Seaholm, a drifter who sometimes stayed in the apartment shared by Duerr and Spontak, told police he stole Duerr’s car while high on cocaine and discovered her body in the trunk.
