Bakersfield authorities on Sunday searched for suspects in six predawn arson fires that destroyed three houses under construction and damaged a fourth. Fire Department Capt. Bill Goatcher said the suspects set ablaze six houses under construction in the Silver Creek and Campus Park subdivisions in southwest Bakersfield. The flames burned themselves out at two of the houses before causing any significant damage, Goatcher said. Total damage was estimated at $225,000, he said. The blazes were set near a series of five arson fires at unfinished houses several weeks ago. Goatcher said his department had no leads in the investigation.
