Ventura 12, Simi Valley 3--Ventura running back Danny Taylor led all rushers with 102 yards and scored from seven yards with 5:30 left in the first half after runs of 22, nine and seven yards.

Visiting Simi Valley cut the lead in half on a 34-yard field goal by Brian Balleweg with one minute left in the third period, but Ventura struck back on the ensuing kickoff. Taylor took the ball on his three-yard line and handed off to Mike Flores at the 15 on a reverse. From there, Flores ran 85 yards for the score.
