2 Bowlers, Competing Head to Head in League Play, Each Roll 300 Game
For only the second time, two bowlers have rolled perfect games while competing head to head in league play.
Manuel Tarango of Riverside and Mike Gaggos of Ontario each had a 300 game while sharing the same pair of lanes in a four-man scratch league Thursday night at Brunswick Deer Creek Lanes in Rancho Cucamonga.
Tarango bowled 199 in his first game, 300 in his second and 210 in his third, for a 709 total. Gaggos rolled 214 in his first game, 300 in his second and 191 in his third, for a 705 total.
According to the American Bowling Congress, it is only the fourth time since 1895 that bowlers going head to head have bowled simultaneous perfect games and only the second time in league play.
