Alabama’s search for a new athletic director is almost over, with the field narrowed to Florida State athletic director Cecil Ingram and former Crimson Tide All-American Lee Roy Jordan.
University of Alabama spokesman Mike Ellis said both Ingram and Jordan were interviewed Sunday at Tuscaloosa by a 10-person university committee searching for a successor to Steve Sloan, who was pressured to resign on Aug. 16.
Acting athletic director Tom Jones said an announcement could be made within 48 hours.
