Edge Takes Over as Pierce Water Polo Coach

Jon Edge, a former captain of the water polo and swimming teams at Whittier College, has been named to coach the water polo team at Pierce College.

Edge, who graduated from Whittier in 1988, replaces Eldin Onsgard as the Pierce coach. Edge was the most valuable player on the Whittier water polo team as a senior and was a four-time team MVP in swimming.

Edge graduated from Agoura High and now resides in Reseda. He worked as a lifeguard at Zuma Beach in Malibu and also will be a lifeguard at the Pierce pool.

Edge took over the team on Friday. The Brahmas open their season Sept. 23 in a tournament at San Diego Mesa College.
