The Friends of the USC Libraries will present their second annual Scriptor Award for the best realization of a book as film to Anne Tyler, author of “The Accidental Tourist,” and Lawrence Kasdan and Frank Galati, who adapted her book into the 1988 movie. The presentation will be made at a black-tie dinner Sept. 28 at USC. Last year’s winners were Helene Hanff, author of “84, Charing Cross Road,” and Hugh Whitemore, the film’s screenwriter.
