Antelope Valley Routs Porterville
Gerald Mitchell ran for 102 yards and two touchdowns and Mike Dalley passed for 143 yards, ran for 79 more and scored two touchdowns to lead Antelope Valley College to a 34-7 win over Porterville.
The Marauders (1-1) gained 418 yards in offense. Eldon Niblett began the scoring with a five-yard run in the first quarter.
Seven minutes later, Mitchell scored the first of his two touchdowns, taking in a Dalley pitch for a nine-yard score. With 6:42 left in the third, Dalley made a nice 16-yard run on a scramble for another touchdown. The extra point was blocked.
With 12:43 remaining, Dalley scored from 36 yards to make the score 27-7. Mitchell finished the scoring with a 14-yard scamper with 5:40 remaining.
